Case study
John Lewis Partnership, Edinburgh
The John Lewis Partnership is the UK’s largest
employee owned company. John Lewis has operated a department store
in Edinburgh’s St James Centre since 1973 and today occupies
significantly enlarged and redeveloped premises.
We believe that a strong economy and tourism
sector across the Edinburgh city region is good news for
retailers.
How is John Lewis Partnership adopting
the Edinburgh Inspiring Capital Brand?
Adopting the Brand brings us strong
identification with a successful city region and leads to clear
business benefits.
Our focus to date has been on introducing the
Edinburgh Inspiring Capital Brand to our staff. We use Edinburgh
Inspiring Capital pop-up stands and branded
delegate materials at employee events. These introduce staff to
Brand values and engender a culture of confidence and excellence
which is consistent with our own brand.
How will you develop your relationship
with Edinburgh Inspiring Capital in the future?
We are keen to explore specific ways to
further our involvement with Edinburgh Inspiring Capital.
We are discussing use of the Brand with the
Retail Forum which brings together various retail trade
associations in the centre of Edinburgh. Adopting the Brand
collectively would increase the Brand’s visibility to visitors and
residents. It would present a cohesive image of Edinburgh Inspiring
Capital across the city’s leading retailers.
