Case study
BAA Edinburgh Airport
BAA Edinburgh Airport handles 8.8m passengers
a year and has more than 40 airlines flying to over 90 destinations
worldwide including New York, Toronto, Amsterdam, Paris, Zurich,
Madrid, Munich and Stockholm.
We see our success as being strongly linked to
that of Edinburgh. Scotland’s capital is a growing business and
tourism destination. Edinburgh’s Brand and image is important to
our continuing growth and success.
How is BAA Edinburgh adopting the
Edinburgh Inspiring Capital Brand?
Edinburgh Airport is a key gateway to the city
for domestic and international travellers. We worked with Edinburgh
Inspiring Capital and VisitScotland to incorporate:
- photography in the south east pier inspired
by the Brand’s look and feel
- the Edinburgh
Inspiring Capital logo on plasma screens throughout the
airport
- branding and dressing of the airport’s
tourism information centre
- front line staff wearing lapel pins
- branding of the international arrivals
gateway.
The terminal now offers a warm and inviting
welcome to Edinburgh and a real sense of place.
We have issued branded lapel pins,
pens and
vinyls to airport staff. Many of these staff are
customer facing so this adds to the sense of identity of the city
region.
We worked with Edinburgh Inspiring Capital to
produce a high quality VIP brochure promoting Edinburgh City
Region. The brochure incorporates the Brand’s values, look, feel
and personality. It showcases Edinburgh as a place to live, invest
and visit.
We distribute the brochure to domestic and
international airlines and use it regularly at press launches and
publicity events. It is also used by third parties across the City
Region to introduce Edinburgh Inspiring Capital to VIPs and
visiting dignitaries.
How will you develop your relationship
with Edinburgh Inspiring Capital in the future?
We look forward to an ongoing relationship
with the Edinburgh Inspiring Capital Team. We are always looking
for innovative ways to develop the Brand’s presence in the
airport.
