Case study
The City of Edinburgh Council, Tourism Department
The City of Edinburgh Council is fully committed to supporting
tourism as a key driver of Edinburgh’s economy. We work with key
public and private sector partners to provide an environment in
which tourism can flourish. Much of this work is carried out
through the Edinburgh Tourism Action Group (ETAG).
We produce the Inspiring Tourism brochure
annually to detail our involvement in promoting tourism. A strong
brand with cohesive marketing messages makes Edinburgh recognisable
worldwide and attracts quality events which the Council is keen to
support.
How is the City of Edinburgh Council
Tourism Department adopting the Edinburgh Inspiring Capital
Brand?
We have used the logo, lines of influence and
Brand colours in our Inspiring Tourism brochure.
We have also used the full range of branded
delegate materials and pop-up stands at the Edinburgh Tourism
Action Group conference. The Edinburgh Inspiring Capital
Brand played a pivotal role in the creation of Inspiring Cuisine,
the colours and strapline were used for the publication.
Using the Edinburgh Inspiring Capital Brand is
effective for us because it reinforces that our work is about more
than just the Council. The Brand represents the range of public and
private sector interests in tourism across the city region.
How will you develop your relationship
with Edinburgh Inspiring Capital in the future?
We have a good relationship with the Edinburgh
Inspiring Capital Team and look forward to working with them on
innovative ways to incorporate the Brand into our work.
