Edinburgh Inspiring Capital appoint Conkerhouse to deliver new
city websites
13th February 2007
Edinburgh Inspiring Capital are pleased to announce the
appointment of Conkerhouse as its web partner to deliver both
the redeveloped Edinburgh Brand website and the new Edinburgh City
Region website. This decision has been reached after much
deliberation over the course of two months by a team of four
panel members from both the public and private sector.
Conkerhouse has been designing and developing websites, web
applications and providing web consultancy for a range of public,
private and voluntary sector organisations across the UK for the
past six years. It is one of the biggest independent agencies
in Scotland with offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow and London and over
300 UK and worldwide clients. They are enthused at the
prospect of working with Edinburgh Inspiring Capital and believe
that the new websites can help to further build the success of the
Edinburgh City Region.
Working together, Conkerhouse and Edinburgh Inspiring Capital
will deliver the two new websites planned for 2007, including a new
Edinburgh City Region website. This new city region website will be
one of the primary public ‘faces’ of the collaborative effort
between public and private sectors to raise the profile of
Edinburgh City Region as a place to LIVE, INVEST, VISIT and STUDY.
The emphasis is on utilising the ‘Edinburgh Inspiring Capital
Brand’ to stimulate commercial yield; attracting quality
businesses, talent, residents and tourists to the city region.
Competitive worldwide destination (place) marketing is
increasing in strength and provision and to secure a prestigious
place in the Global Village, as well as the hearts and minds of
residents, tourists and inward investors, the Edinburgh City Region
needs to continue to proactively market itself.
Commenting on the appointment of Conkerhouse, Ailsa Falconer,
Project Brand Manager said “We are delighted with the panel’s
decision to appoint Conkerhouse. The two websites will help to
strengthen and consolidate Edinburgh City Region’s key strengths
and complement the existing range of brand materials on offer.”
