Elegant Edinburgh Embraces Fashion Festival

Details for an inspiring new fashion festival in Edinburgh were
announced today.
A first for Scotland, the Edinburgh International Fashion
Festival is being organised by the Edinburgh City Centre Management
Company (ECCM) using the Inspiring Capital banner and will take
place across various city centre venues from 26 - 29th April
2006.
The Festival will consist of an exciting programme of events
including catwalk shows from leading international designers
Vivienne Westwood, Matthew Williamson and Jonathan Saunders.
This innovative festival is supported by partners, City of
Edinburgh Council , Edinburgh City Centre Management Co Ltd,
EventScotland and Scottish Enterprise East.
Commenting on the unveiling of the festival, Ailsa Falconer,
Project Manager of Edinburgh Inspiring Capital said
“The Edinburgh International Fashion Festival now joins
Edinburgh’s list of rich and diverse events that take place in the
capital city. This is the first time Edinburgh has played
host to such an imaginative and vibrant event. We warmly
welcome the chance to showcase new Scottish talent as well as
having events with several of fashion’s most creative
designers.
“This new festival is taking place in the world’s best known
festival city and we anticipate it will be very well received in a
city bursting with inspiration! “
With more events and details to be announced in the coming
weeks, the Edinburgh International Fashion Festival promises to
become a firm favourite in the rich calendar of events, not only in
the city of Edinburgh , but within the fashion world as a
whole.
