What does Edinburgh City Region have to offer? - Brand
project team asks for residents' views
25th November 2004
Edinburgh residents and workers are being asked for their views
on what Edinburgh has to offer, as part of the Edinburgh City
Region Brand Project.
The Brand project team is hosting a two-day, special event
in a marquee on the Playfair Link, The Mound, on Friday 26 November
(10.30am - 6.00pm) and Saturday 27 November (10.00am -
4.00pm).
The Brand team is consulting with a wide variety of sectors
across Edinburgh and the Lothians and now wants to hear what
residents and workers from in and around the city have to say.
Ailsa Falconer, the Brand Project Manager said: “We want to
attract people to live, work, visit or invest in Edinburgh and the
Lothians, but our research has highlighted that those who we want
to attract here, not simply as visitors but also as investors and
future residents, may not even have heard of us.”
The research also showed that the Edinburgh City Region has
many strengths and qualities that make it an attractive
destination, such as a great quality of life. Ailsa Falconer added:
“Those who already experience the quality of life the region has to
offer have a considerable contribution to make to this project. We
want their help so that we can develop a single marketing approach
that can be used by organisations in every sector of the region to
help them achieve further success. This is an important stage in
the project and we want to hear from as many people as possible,
whether they visit, live or work in the city and its surrounding
areas.”
As part of the £24.7 million allocation from the Scottish
Executive's Cities Growth Fund, Edinburgh is using £800,000 to
develop and implement the Edinburgh City Region Brand.
