Notes on images
Photography usage
- Images are free to use but users must credit Edinburgh
Inspiring Capital and/or use the logo.
- All images are the property of Edinburgh Inspiring Capital and
were commissioned by Edinburgh Inspiring Capital.
- Images were taken by a variety of photographers including:
Darran Barton, Susie Lowe, David Boni, Paul Dodds, Mark Seagre and
Lloyd Smith.
Download times
- When downloading images a 1MB image will take 1 minute to
download with a dial-up connection of 56 Kbps.
Formats available
- All images at suitable to print up to A4 size. If you wish to
use the images at a larger size than A4 please speak to your own
graphic designer.
- Photographs are available in a high-res and low res jpeg.
- Hi res images are stored at 300 dpi, this is the ideal
resolution for print material up to A4 size.
- Low res images are stored at 72 dpi and are all under 1MB. This
resolution is ideal for the web.
- Logos and lines are available in a variety of formats PSD, RGB,
CMYK, JPEG and TIFF.
Logos and lines formats
CMYK (EPS)
This is a 4-Colour (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow & Black)
Encapsulated Postscript image. These will not work correctly in
Word or PowerPoint.
RGB (EPS)
This a 3-Colour (Red, Green & Blue) Encapsulated image.
PMS (EPS)
This is an Encapsulated Postscript image that uses Pantone
Colour references.
PSD (High Res) / (Low Res)
These files are compatible with the Adobe Photoshop application
and are available in High Resolution and Low Resolution.
JPEG (High Res) / (Low Res)
These files are 4-Colour (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow & Black) and
are compressed using the Joint Photographic Experts Group format.
This allows files sizes to be reduced. These files are suitable for
use in Word or PowerPoint.
TIFF (High Res) / (Low Res)
These files are 4-Colour (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow & Black) and
are saved using the Tagged Image File Format. They are bitmapped
graphics files and are widely used. These files are not suitable
for use in Word or PowerPoint.
Editing of images
- Cropping of the images is permitted.
- If amending the images in any way apart from resizing or
cropping please obtain prior permission from info@edinburghbrand.com, 0131
529 4446.
- If resizing images please save the images as a tiff
file first in order to ensure that the maximum amount of data
is stored and the images will resize better.
